Privacy policy
Effective October 30, 2026. Short version: Tuckbird keeps everything on your phone and sends nothing about you to us.
What Tuckbird reads
- Only the links you share to it, paste into it, or tap when Tuckbird is set to open them.
- It reads the clipboard only when you tap Paste from clipboard.
- It doesn't read your notifications, messages, contacts, photos, location or other apps.
What it connects to
- The site in the link. To save a video, Tuckbird contacts the site the link points to (TikTok, Instagram or Facebook) and downloads the video from it, as a browser would. That site sees a normal request from your phone's internet connection, under its own privacy policy.
- Updates. Once a day, and when you tap Check for updates, Tuckbird reads this website (tuckbird.com/update.json). If there is a newer version and you agree to install it, it downloads it from dl.tuckbird.com. Every few days it also checks GitHub (owned by Microsoft) for a newer version of its download engine, yt-dlp. Each sees a normal request from your phone. This site and its downloads are served by Cloudflare, under its own privacy policy.
- Nothing else. There's no Tuckbird server, no account, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting.
What stays on your phone
- The videos you save and the list of links you shared, in the app's private storage. Once WristReel has a video, Tuckbird deletes its own copy a few minutes later; anything not sent is deleted after a week at most. You can delete them sooner in the app, or by uninstalling it.
- When Tuckbird sends a video to WristReel, WristReel gets a copy and handles it under its own privacy policy.
This website
This site uses no cookies and no analytics. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and pages requested, for security, under its own policy.
Children
Tuckbird isn't directed at children under 13.
